popya video.21: twinkle twinkle little star

popya video.20: the great escape

tribu, downtown sf, bloomingdale's

ok, so kahapon sumama na naman kami sa tita ni garet sa kanyang client. we ate at the client's resto called tribu. we ordered garlic rice, grilled liempo, sisig and laing. syempre dive agad si garet sa laing, ako naman sa liempo. small lang ang place, pero clean at maaliwalas ang feeling. we had turon with ice cream for dessert. sarap. tirik mata sa busog. hehe.

anyway, while we ate, her tita was talking to the client in another table. di kami sabay na pumasok, kasi baka daw i-libre pa kami sa food, ayaw ng tita nya ng ganun, kasi nga client.

later that night, we had dinner sa thai resto. yum yum.

so all in all, pagod at busog kami that day.

the search for NIDO

so from the second wal-mart store, we let our ever dependable garmin gps navigator to search the surrounding groceries in the area, hayun, meron mexican store. jackpot! bili agad kami ng dalawang 1.8kg na lata. mahal dito $25/can, pero sa phoenix nasa $18-20 lang ito. no choice. pero oks na din. at least di ma-tom-jones is popya!

bye phoenix ...

... it was fun (and hot) while it lasted, but we have to say goodbye!

circumstances change and obstacles get in the way, but such is life. we will be facing another chapter in our life, another mile in our journey!

bye phoenix and thanks for the memories!

stones: the final update

yesterday, we went to the urologist for a follow up checkup on my kidney stone. also, i was there to remove the stent that was left in my body for the ureter heal for a few days. i will spare you the faint-inducing details of the removal, let's just say i will be drinking loads and loads of water from now on to avoid getting another stone. whew!

stones update.03

i had my procedure today at st. joseph's hospital to remove the stone in my right kidney. we arrived around 0530am. after a brief admission process, where i had to pay $300 out-of-pocket for my insurace, we went to the pre-ops department. there i was given my IV (hurts!) and put on my hospital gown.

after a few minutes, i was wheeled into the operating room/floor, asked a few more questions, met my doctor and waited for the anestistiologist. the last thing i remembered was talking to the nurses while being given anestetia then apparently i zonked out immediately.

woke up after about an hour and was told the procedure went well and the stone was successfully removed. we stayed in the hospital for another hour and was discharged. we went to cvs to get my prescription. garet drove me home (great driving honey!). at 1215pm we were home. taking a leak is a pain, but manageable. i finally gave in around 10pm and took one pill to numb the pain.

all in all it was a pleasant experience. the staff was very professional and easy to talk to and their process was flawless, unlike the horror that is banner good samaritan hospital.

btw, i received a survey form/letter from banner hospital to get comments on my emergency visit last may 21st. i put in: "i would rather die, than go back to your emergency department", it was that bad an experience.
